Ovonic Materials Division Accomplishments
Because of our worldwide intellectual property (IP)
portfolio and our cutting-edge nickel metal hydride
(NiMH) technology, Ovonic Materials Division has licensed
every major manufacturer of NiMH batteries. All of these
licensed manufacturers (see attached)
use Ovonic NiMH technology.
Increased royalty revenue is due to the following two
main components:

Rapidly growing sales of consumer
NiMH batteries (as displayed and sold in your local
retail stores) |
| 2. |
Rapidly growing sales of hybrid
electric vehicle (HEV) batteries |
ECD Ovonics' NiMH technology position and IP portfolio
has been the vehicle for obtaining our 50% equity interest
in our NiMH manufacturing joint venture, Cobasys LLC.
ECD Ovonics has provided Cobasys with its competitive
marketplace advantage because of the following:

Cobasys has been granted the
exclusive worldwide right to sell HEV and other
types of NiMH batteries. |

Cobasys has been granted the
exclusive right to sub-license proprietary Ovonic
NiMH technology in the market segments that it serves. |
The Ovonic Materials Division has developed advanced
metal hydride and nickel hydroxide products and processing
technologies. The nickel hydroxide manufacturing businesses
presents the opportunity for growth and revenue generation
because our technology offers our customers cost and
performance advantages.
