United Solar Ovonic Breaks Ground for Second Solar Cell Manufacturing Site
United Solar Ovonic's groundbreaking ceremony for its second 25-megawatt thin-film triple-junction solar module manufacturing facility in Auburn Hills, Mich., featured keynote address by Honorable Samuel W. Bodman, U.S. Secretary of Energy.
The 160,000 square foot state-of-the-art solar cell manufacturing facility doubles United Solar Ovonic's production capacity and will employ approximately 200 people.
