United Solar Ovonic Manufacturing Capacity to
  300 Megawatts by 2010

After ECD Ovonics' Board approved the plan to expand United Solar Ovonic's manufacturing capacity to 300MW by 2010, the plan was set in motion on 22 March 2006 when the first phase of the expansion — construction of the Greenville manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 50MW — was announced.

United Solar Ovonic, ECD Ovonics' wholly owned subsidiary, is approaching the final phases of its second 25MW production facility in Auburn Hills, MI, where its existing football-field long proprietary continuous web triple-junction solar cell manufacturing machine is operating at its full-rated capacity.
