Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. has been selected as one of the inaugural constituents of the Ocean Tomo 300™ Patent Index, a first major new broad market index in 35 years. The index was created in the latter part of 2006 by the American Stock Exchange® (AMEX: OTPAT), who prices and publishes the index.
 
Portfolio of 60 patent-intensive growth companies with the highest innovation ratio (that is, patent value relative to book value) are included in this industry's first intangible asset growth index.

Ocean Tomo uses its PatentRatings® system to evaluate the value of each company's patent portfolio. This analytical engine, which is widely recognized by the intellectual property community, calculates the relative attractiveness of more than four million patents issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 1983.
