Time Magazine's Hero for the Planet

Stanford R. Ovshinsky, ECD Ovonics' president, chief scientist and technologist, was honored in March 1999 as one of Time Magazine's Heroes for the Planet.

Margot Hornblower, in an article entitled Listen, Detroit: You'll Get a Charge Out of This, highlights briefly Stan's pioneering and innovative technological breakthroughs in the fields of energy and information that have led to his being selected as one of the heroes of the planet.
